Sound familiar?

You have a garden – but no clear vision

Most people come to me with these exact thoughts. If even one feels like you, that's what the project is for.

“I have a plot, but I don't understand where to start or how to lay it all out.”

“I don't know what to plant where – afraid I'll plant the wrong thing and have to dig it up later.”

“I want to see how the garden will look first, and only then start doing anything.”

“Contractors plant ‘the way they always do’, with no idea – but I want it thought through for our family.”

Without a plan, a plot gets built in pieces: paths lead nowhere, plants don't take or crowd each other, zones overlap. The result – needless redos and money spent for nothing. A project solves this before you ever pick up a spade.

What changes with a project

A garden for your life, not just a “pretty picture”

I design around how your family actually lives: where you walk, where you relax, what you're willing to care for. Beauty follows – hand in hand with comfort.

A clear plan of zones and routes

Everything in its place – even on a small plot.

Plants for your climate and plot

Chosen for your light conditions and regional soil.

Visuals before any work begins

See your garden in 3D before construction.

Checked for real-world feasibility

Slopes, drainage, retaining walls – no costly surprises.

No calls, at your own pace

Everything in writing, whenever it suits you.

A clear action plan

Where to start and in what order to move.

What you get

Concrete deliverables, not “a few tips”

The exact contents depend on the format (see pricing below). The basic remote project includes:

3–5 visualisationshow the garden will look in 3D
Style & materials moodboardone consistent mood: surfaces, textures, plants
Preliminary plant listwhat to plant given your plot's conditions
PDF project presentationeverything in one document – easy to show a contractor

Lia Cigler, landscape architect
About me

A new designer? Yes! And that's your advantage

My name is Yulia Salakhova, but in my work I go by Lia Cigler: Lia is short for Yulia, and Cigler is my mother's maiden name – it's easier to pronounce. I'm a qualified landscape architect (Sosnovka Design Academy). My portfolio holds academic and personal projects, and for my diploma I chose a challenging plot with a significant change in elevation. I'm at the start of my path and I say so openly.

For you, I already have what matters more than years on the job:

  • An honest price. With experienced designers a project like this costs several times more.
  • A personal stake in the result. Your plot is my portfolio and my name, so a great result and your satisfaction are my main goal.
  • Personal involvement. I take on few projects at once – so I know your plot inside out.
  • Up to date with the times. I build the project in 3D and with AI tools – you see the result before any work.
  • An analytical background. 13 years as a lawyer: I ask precise questions and spot details, which saves money on the build.

FAQ

Common questions about a remote project

How can you design a garden without visiting the site?
From your materials: photos and video of the garden from several angles, a plan or measurements, and your answers in a lifestyle questionnaire. That's enough to put together zoning, routes, the concept and plant selection. I only produce working (technical) documentation when a topographic survey and ground data are available – soil type and groundwater level. Without that data the project stays at concept level.
What do I need to prepare on my side?
Photos and video of the plot, rough measurements or a plan, and a completed questionnaire – in it you describe in writing how you live, where you walk, where you relax and what you're willing to care for. I send the questionnaire after your enquiry. The rest is my job.
Do we need to get on a call?
No. Everything can be done in writing: you fill in the questionnaire, send photos and video, and we sort out questions by message – at your own pace, with no scheduled calls. A call only if you want one.
My plot is complex – terrain, slopes, water. Will you take it on?
Yes. For my diploma project I worked with a 6-metre change in elevation: grading, retaining walls, drainage. I check solutions for feasibility so there are no costly surprises during the build.
How long does a project take?
Usually 3–4 weeks from the moment all materials are received and the questionnaire is filled in. For large or complex plots it can take a little longer – I'll tell you that at the review.
Do you do the planting and building yourself?
No, the physical work is done by contractors. I provide a project that makes it clear to them what to do and how. On the supervision plan I help monitor the work via photos and video, so it's built to the project.
My plot is tiny / a front garden. Will you take it on?
Absolutely. In Serbia land is scarce and gardens are often small – that's exactly my job. The smaller the plot, the more important thoughtful zoning and routes are: a good plan fits in everything you need and keeps a sense of space. For specific tasks an online review is often enough.
What if the plot is large?
I'll take that on too. I work with plots of any size – from small gardens to large grounds (my diploma project was 2,000 m² with challenging terrain). The price is simply based on area: the basic project covers a plot up to 1,000 m², beyond that there's a surcharge per additional 100 m². I'll give the exact figure at the free review.
What languages do you work in?
English, Serbian and Russian. Write to me and I'll reply in your language.
